Community AI Adoption & Innovation

EDACT is dedicated to empowering underserved individuals, small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations, with a particular focus on Immigrant and BIPOC communities, by offering technical assistance that fosters technology adoption, innovation, and economic opportunity. The Community AI Adoption program provides participants with the practical understanding, hands-on skills, and trusted support needed to harness artificial intelligence in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

We make AI practical, safe, culturally responsive, and useful for people and organizations, especially those least likely to benefit without trusted, hands-on guidance.

Program Services

AI Fluency, Safety & Confidence

What AI is, how to use it effectively, how to verify its outputs, and how to protect privacy, data, identity, and human judgment.

Applied AI For People & Organizations

Hands-on help building working solutions (workflow automation, content, customer support, research, forms, and decision tools), plus adoption planning, staff training, and tool selection for small businesses and nonprofits.

AI In The Community

Pop-up demonstrations, the AI Mobile Lab, library and church partnerships, and trained Community AI Ambassadors offering culturally and linguistically relevant help.

How Support Works

Every engagement follows a proven approach to move participants from uncertainty to practical AI use.

Every engagement begins with accessible, plain-language learning tailored to each participant's starting point. The EDACT team explains what AI can and cannot do, demonstrates relevant tools, and builds foundational confidence before any technical work begins.

EDACT guides participants through hands-on problem-solving focused on real, usable outputs (automated workflows, generated content, customer responses, research summaries, or decision tools) aligned with each participant's actual needs.

EDACT works alongside participants to construct sustainable AI systems and habits. This includes setting up tools, creating templates, establishing verification practices, and integrating AI into daily operations rather than treating it as a one-time experiment.

Ongoing support ensures that participants use AI safely and responsibly. Coaches provide guidance on data privacy, output verification, bias awareness, and maintaining human judgment in AI-assisted decisions.

Every engagement includes planning for expanded use. EDACT tracks outcomes, identifies new applications, and prepares participants to adopt additional AI capabilities as their confidence and needs grow.
