The Future of Equity-Driven Economic Growth

The conversation around economic transformation and opportunity within African and diasporan communities has never been more urgent. In a global landscape marked by fluctuating political climates, widening inequality, and systemic barriers to access, resilience has become more than a survival mechanism—it has become a strategy. And perhaps the most powerful form of resilience is the ability of communities to unite, mobilize, and build solutions for themselves.

This spirit was unmistakable at the PAUSBIS 2025 Virtual Summit, where leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and community advocates came together across continents to engage in honest dialogue about the future of Afro-diasporan economic collaboration.

Across two days of discussion and connection, one central theme emerged with clarity: resilience is collective.

The summit emphasized that building equitable economic systems requires intentional partnership, shared knowledge, and investments driven by community rather than external gatekeeping. It reinforced the belief that when communities mobilize resources and expertise together, they create pathways of opportunity that traditional systems have historically denied.

During the program, our speakers challenged traditional narratives and cast new visions for equitable global participation. Their messages reflected a shared belief that progress demands resources, partnerships, and bold re-imagining of how we participate in global markets.

Dr. Burrage emphasized that inclusion is not a favor,it is strategy. It is the foundation of stronger economies and thriving communities. She reminded us that access is not enough; we must redesign systems that allow historically excluded groups to participate fully.

Dr. Carter focused on the fact that impact requires capital and that community-powered funding can unlock the future of agriculture and innovation across continents.

Barrister Kamo Sende amplified what many feel: economic trust between Africa and the U.S. must be re-built through ethical opportunity and partnership, not exploitation.

This is precisely where EDACT’s mission of equity in action alignd. Our work is rooted in advancing equity and opening doors for those historically excluded from financial and economic systems. We believe that opportunity should not be determined by geography, background, or access to privilege—but by the talent, vision, and resilience that individuals and communities already possess. PAUSBIS 2025 affirmed that progress is possible when we ensure those with the ideas and determination to lead change are equipped with the tools to make it real.

As we carry forward this energy and insight, we invite supporters, partners, and community allies to join us in advancing this work through Give to the Max Day, on November 20th, 2025.

Early giving is open, and every contribution—no matter its size—helps strengthen the systems that empower underserved entrepreneurs, families, and communities across Minnesota.
